My husband loves basketball games. It is pretty much his favorite sport. I don't hate basketball, but if I'm going to actually get dressed and leave the comfort of my house in the evening, I'm looking for more of a social experience. I want to hang out with friends. I want to be entertained by more than just a game. And (as any long-time reader of my blog will tell you) I am all about the food and drinks.
I've found the perfect compromise: Amway Center's Mid-Week Magic Happy Hour.
With tickets to an Orlando Magic Wednesday home game, you have access to a pre-game Happy Hour with live entertainment at Amway Center’s outdoor bar, ‘Ronas & ‘Ritas from 5:30-7:00. Drink specials start at $3. One destination for the evening cuts down on the stress of transportation and parking. It is much easier to relax and have fun when you don't have to worry about leaving your pre-game hangout in time to make it to the Amway Center for the game, becaue you are already there.
This is pretty much the perfect Wednesday night for my family.
It doesn't hurt that the game will be awesome, too.
They also have an amaxing half-time preformance, light and video show, and fun contests. I enjoy all those things. Even if you are mostly excited about the drinks and social hours before the game, and the great show the Amway Center puts on in between baskets, you might just find yourself enjoying the game more than you expected. Basketball is much more fun when you watch it in person. Plus, there is a beautiful amount of snack food at those cocession stands. Just think of all the soft pretzels you can eat during a basketball game.
If you are looking to jumpstart your weekends in April with some mid-week fun, there are three Wednesday games remaining in the 25th Anniversary Orlando Magic season:
- April 2 vs. Cleveland Cavaliers
- April 9 vs. Brooklyn Nets
- April 16 vs. Indiana Pacers
What is your favorite thing about attending a basketball game?
That's such a fun idea. I am in Orlando every year, but it's not usually during basketball season.
