Six Word Parenting

Inspired by Ernest Hemingway’s assertion that you can tell any story in a six-word sentence, Eli asked bloggers to sum up a typical day of parenthood using only six words.

It is harder to cover a day of parenting in six words than you might think.

But I did it.

You can see my sentence, along with some great bloggers and writers, at Coach Daddy Blog today - A Typical Day in the Life of a Parent.

In 2011, I wrote a six word memoir for the Expressive Arts Carnival.
You can check it out if you are looking for more short reading fun.

NaBloPoMo is almost over.
Maybe next year I should write only six word posts if I decide to participate again? That could be an easier and harder way of making it through the month of November.

  1. I want to try and do NaBloPoMo next year! Is it always in November? I'm of to check out your six words.

    1. The main one is in November each year, but BlogHer does run a smaller group every month - so if there is a time that is better for you, you can do it then.

  3. I loved reading the 6 word sentences today! For me, 6 words are always more challenging to come up with than 600 - but that's half the fun!

    1. I'm so glad you enjoyed them!

I think 6 words are harder than 600, too. It is funny how that works. But it does help you to bring out the very most important words for the situation, and that is a good thing.
