Interview With The Book Thief Author Markus Zusak

If you've liked me on facebook, you might remember a couple of months ago that I was super excited (read that: bragging) to be able to participate in a phone interview with Markus Zusak, the author of The Book Thief. We talked about his writing process, transitioning a book to film, some of his favorite books, movie adaptations he enjoyed, and why you should never let your parents get involved when you are writing a book. It was a great conversation.

I'm excited for you to get a chance to know Zusak. He was warm and funny, and his passion for words and books really came through. He even made this book purist more open to the idea of movie adaptations that make sacrifices and changes in order to work on film, which is something I never thought would be possible.

The interview is up at My Sentiment ExactLee, where you can read more about The Book Thief as a book and film, and meet Markus Zusak.

Have you read The Book Thief?
Are you going to see the movie?

The Book Thief will be in theaters on November 15, 2013.
I am going to see it, and I'm expecting it to be amazing.

  1. I have read the Book Thief. I had no idea they made a movie, and it's out soon. And my mind is blown by that and the fact that you interviewed him!!!

The book was remarkable. Unlike any other book I've read. The form is so specifically interesting.
