No more "she was older than her chronological age."
No more worrying that a trial ruined the lives of promising athletes.
No more teaching high school students not to get caught posting pictures of sexual assault on social media instead of teaching them not to rape.
No more presenting domestic violence as sexy or glamorous "art."
No more rape jokes and victim blaming.
No more.
No more.
Sexual assault and domestic violence are everyone's problem.
What do you want to say "No more" to?
If you have been the victim of sexual assault and need help, or you want to help a loved one, you can contact RAINN or call the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1-800-656-HOPE.
If you suspect that a child is being abused, or if you are a child or teen who is being abused, you can contact Child Help or call the National Child Abuse Hotline 1-800-4-A-CHILD.
If you have been the victim of domestic violence and need help, or you want to help a loved one, you can contact the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE or LoveIsRespect at 1-866-331-9474 and text ‘loveis’ to 22522.
You are not alone.
Yes! The whole, teach kids not to post pictures about sexual assault rather than teaching them not to assault is the one that really gets me! Are you serious? This is what we've come to as a society? We can do so much better than that!
ReplyDeleteYou know this is a topic dear to me. Thank you for not being afraid to speak out and speak up. I stand with you, my friend. <3
ReplyDeleteMy children and I are all very into this theme but I didn't see this video until now. Thank you for sharing it, especially on SITSSharefest.
ReplyDeletePS - Glad to "see" you.
Thanks, Tracie -- I wasn't aware of this campaign (guessing it's focused on the U.S.?), but will check it out now!
