Here's the list:
1. I do not like different kinds of food to touch each other on my plate.
This is true. I very carefully pile my food on the plate, so it does not touch or mix together. I am also not a big fan of gravy.
2. I love Tinikling.
This is true. In my eighth grade PE class we did a six week course of Tinikling. It was one of the only times I enjoyed PE.
3. Geometry is my favorite kind of math.
This is not true. Geometry is the math I hate the most. Partly because it does not make sense (I am an Algebra kind of girl), and partly because I am still scared from the time my Geometry teacher went crazy in class.
4. I rode down the interstate in a car that was on the back of a flatbed tow truck.
This is true. It happened the night Thomas told me he loved me for the first time. I am still pretty sure it was illegal to ride in the car while it was being towed.
If you share a 3+1 of your own, leave me a link so I can guess which one is not true.
I did something like this for a writing prompt. It was a piece of fiction, but there was a basis of truth to it. I included three of my own truths and a lie.

I don't know how I missed reading that the first time around, because I did the same prompt! I took a slightly different take on it.

i do this exact same thing with my students (i teach adults) at the start of every new class. it's always fun and funny and it's a great icebreaker. also, when i read the second one, i thought it said "tinkling", and i thought to myself, "well, sure i enjoy a good tinkle,too...especially when i've been holding it for a while." but i couldn't figure out why that was important enough to make your list. good thing you included the wikipedia link. ;) and now, thanks to you, i know a new word!
ReplyDeleteThat is fun!
DeleteLet me tell you, there were a lot of jokes (especially by the boys, who did not do Tinikling in PE) about tinkling during that six weeks.
Number one is my grandson and number two is me! Have a good weekend. sandie
ReplyDeleteHehe. That is funny!
Delete{Melinda} Tracie, I totally get that! I HATED Geometry. Despised it. Worst class I took in my high school career. I'm not really a math girl, but I definitely like Algebra better than Geometry. I liked anything better than Geometry! :)
ReplyDelete"I liked anything better than Geometry!"
DeleteI'm totally with you on that! :)
I feel the same way about Geometry! I was doing great in math until we hit that. Bah!
ReplyDeleteExactly. Geometry is not our friend.
DeleteYESSSSSSS!!! I got it right!!
ReplyDeleteI knew you couldn't be a geometry lover. I don't think it makes sense either!! GAH!! --Lisa
You sure did!!
DeleteUs Geometry haters can spot each other from miles away ;-)
Glad you stopped by, looking forward to catching up on your blog :)
ReplyDeleteBoom
ReplyDeleteI so hate all forms of math.
Especially the ones like this:
Jimmy had 7 apples. Judy took 4 bananas. Dennis had one date. How many dollars does Sam have?
GAH
Ok so I was wrong.............
