Kissing Problems at Rosemount Pep Rally

Rosemount High School had a pep rally earlier this month. Athletes were lined up, blindfolded, and told each of them would be kissed by another student. Instead, once those blindfolds were on, the athlete's parents came out to do the kissing. This is a video from the event...

I honestly would not have been okay with students being blindfolded and kissed by other students they did not specifically consent to kiss. There are some serious flaws with that plan.

But this? These parent's kisses? Inappropriate on a whole new level.

Especially the mom in the green shirt starting at second 29 - the one who takes her son's hand, and places it on her butt.

The principal, John Wollersheim, said this is a clip taken from an activity that went on for nearly half an hour. It is just a portion of what happened.

As if it should matter to us that before blindfolded students were kissed inappropriately by their parents in the school gym, they were able to listen to the band play the fight song and watch some cheerleaders dance.

What do you think about this pep rally activity - inappropriate or silly fun?

    This was the most disgusting thing I have ever heard of! Then, I watched the video and was completely mortified and horrified! I think the principal that allowed this type of behavior to occur should be behind bars. And those parents...why on earth would ANY parent agree to this? Did they think it would be funny? My skin crawled. Imagine the thoughts that went through those students' minds once those blindfolds were removed.

    you are right, this was wrong on a whole new level, I would like to see what the children had to say about this and those parents need to be seriously talked to. Such a shame, don't see how anyone could get so much fun out of the humiliation of a few

    They've been showing this on the news up here for awhile. I can't bring myself to watch the video. It freaks me out too much. I don't live too far from here, but I'm far enough away to be be happy that when the time comes, my kids WON'T be attending this school.

    Amazing. Truly amazing. I'm pretty sure this is why American kids aren't doing so hot on standardized tests. Because heaven forbid we interrupt the incest smooch session to educate.
