Happiness is Relaxation

I love sitting down to cross stitch. It requires a high level of concentration, and yet has a simplicity about it that allows my brain to think deeply about other things. It is kind of craft perfection.

  1. Oh how I wish I could cross stitch without getting angry at myself. I have tried the smaller ones, but can never get through one.

  11. That's really pretty.

I crochet, which I think falls into the same category - concentrate while relaxing.

  17. I make needlepoint custom pet pillows. You're right; very relaxing and makes me feel productive when we are sitting and watching TV. Your friend Erin is making a powerful difference. I am glad she will be on Oprah, and working towards legislation.

  18. I actually used to be pretty good at cross stitching and embroidery. I miss it. I've been planning to go out and pick up the things necessary to take it up again. I bet it will all come back to me once I start again.

  21. Ooooh so pretty! The only craftiness that I've ever developed any talent at is scrapbooking but I love LOOKING AT cross-stitch.

  22. That's what I love about knitting and stitching --- your mind is busy, but you can still think your own thoughts.

I love when everything is totally quiet and I have my stitching time.

    Pure heaven on earth.

  23. I was never cool enough to do counted cross stitching - always had to have the patterns pre-printed, but boy, I loved it regardless!
