I have been guilty of ignoring a sink full of dishes and only washing a single spoon for ice cream.
(Don't judge. I know I'm not the only person who has done this.)
There is that great moment with dishes though. When I finally put on those bright yellow gloves and turn the water up and start washing. (That isn't the great moment!) The moment happens when all the dishes are done and I can lay those gloves down and know that the job is complete.
That brings me joy!

And this is the reason my family does a lot of plastic ware and paper plates. Some weeks, we just don't have time for the dishes! ;)
ReplyDelete<3 you!
I have a dishwasher and I still loathe doing dishes lol
ReplyDeleteI use my dishwasher for most things but you know I really don't mind doing the dishes. As far as household chores go I hate ironing, hoovering, dusting and cleaning bathrooms, that is definitely the worst :-)
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. I hate doing dishes as well.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful sight! I am so not judging :)
ReplyDeleteWell, that does make it into the yellow joy machine file...know the feeling well years ago
ReplyDeleteThanks for leaving a comment on my blog today. I'm glad I found your corner of the world.
ReplyDeleteI read your story. I am amazed at your strength. May God continue to bless you.
And I'm marking you on my blog list. I'll be reading!
I will "unload" one spoon from the dishwasher for whatever I need. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm sooo guilty of washing the one spoon just to snack...but usually my problem is putting all the dishes in the dishwasher, and then failing to turn the darn thing on...*sigh*
ReplyDeleteOh well.....life aint fun without a little unfinished business!
Yep, the end is (nearly always) worth the beginning and middle.
ReplyDeleteNearly always.
;)
I don't like doing the dishes either. Actually, I don't like any housework. Blogging is much more enjoyable. :)
ReplyDeleteI love when they are done too.
ReplyDeleteBeing single, I use the same fork, knife and plate over and over and over again.
ReplyDeleteOh shoot! You just reminded me I have a sink full of them to do!
ReplyDeleteI love little rituals that make daily tasks seem more special. I need some yellow gloves.
ReplyDeleteI can relate. Didn't have a dishwasher for most of my childhood and adult life. Still have yellow gloves around here too!
ReplyDeleteLOL...you are totally NOT the only person who washed one spoon so she could eat her ice cream!
ReplyDeleteThat 'great moment' you describe...mmmm, not so great for me. My gloves (bright pink) are kinda stinky. But the spoon thing...I'm judging you UP on that one. Although for me, it's my milk-n-cookies cup that gets the single item wash;D
ReplyDeleteI am with you dishes are my least favorite thing to do but that is what a teenage that wants money or a new game is for! :)
ReplyDeleteWashing dishes is my least favorite chore ever! I would rather pick up dog poop. I even went out and bought super cute pink gloves...it did not inspire me. Glad you found happiness.
ReplyDeleteOh I absolutely hate doing the dishes too! But thank heavens for the dishwasher! :)
ReplyDeleteI am grateful for my dishwasher, but hubs and I have an unspoken rule for most of the time....either you wash dishes, or you bathe the kiddos. I'd rather do the dishes.
ReplyDeletelol!
I'm getting the impression you don't have a dishwasher???
ReplyDeleteOh my, yes. The yellow gloves! they DO make a difference. Same thing with my apron. :~D
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting Chrysalis!
Blessings, e-Mom
I am the seventh of nine children who grew up in a household that had no dishwasher. Need I say more about how I feel about washing dishes??
ReplyDeletedishes? a 'royal' pain. cute post.
ReplyDeleteDid U get your 25 dollar gift card yet?
ReplyDeletei loathe the dishes too..*sigh*
I need a housekeeper so I can blog and tweet even more... hahaha!
love it!
ReplyDeletealso. i, too, will wash just a spoon for ice cream. heck. i've even washed just a fork for it because i was too lazy to dig on the bottom of the sink for a spoon.
