-The Great Snowfall of 2010

All last week the weather man said that when the weekend came we would get some snow.  (everyone who lives up north and is tired of snow can stop reading now if you don't want to hear me tell a snow story while you are sitting inside a blizzard) On Friday night he said that snow would happen between 6am and 10am.  I was so excited that I set my alarm for 6:00...AM, which, if you have been reading this blog, you know is a big deal since I am usually not even asleep before 3am.  Did you know that it is still dark outside at 6? 

I cracked open the door and saw some rain...it was very cold!!  "This is good," I thought, "The snow is coming!"  Flip on the local weather and the guy keeps saying, "we just received more calls from viewers telling us they have snow"  Thomas and I went outside (I wasn't going to wake Katarina up until it was really snowing) to see if it was just rain or if there was snow mixed in.  I think that I might have seen a couple of snowflakes................maybe?  What do you think?

My hopeful optimism kicked in at this point and I was sure that that it was about to be inches of snow any minute...but my cold awareness also kicked in. I decided that my jeans just weren't going to cut it in the warmth area, so I figured I would wear my fleece pajama bottoms and put the jeans on over them (I'm still not sure where this idea came from, but I was working on less than two hours sleep and cold medicine, so that should explain a lot) Getting those jeans to go over the pajamas was a stupid crazy fun experience, that took about fifteen minutes and involved getting help from Thomas.  But once they were on, I was ready......add two pairs of socks and some boots and watch out snow, here I come. Oh wait, don't forget new batteries in the camera, this is going to be a prime picture taking experience, I didn't want to miss a shot!

Finally, Thomas and I, ready to brave the cold.....planning snowmen and snowball fights.........discussing whether or not it would be fun to wake Katarina up by putting snow on her face............stepped outside......and saw.............

Absolutely No Snow!!

(that red string is the tie for my pajamas, I know that everyone will want to replicate that special fashion moment)

Here is a tip Florida weathermen.  When you say snow, people expect to see more than three flakes in the dark at 6am.  We want inches.....at least half an inch.  Otherwise, don't get our hopes up with your false snow warnings!
