Did you know that the United States currently spends more money in a single day fighting drug trafficking than it does in an entire year fighting human trafficking?
There are so many resources out there for you to learn about human trafficking, there is no way that I can list them all here. Just start googling human trafficking and see what comes up. Here are a few things that you can check out:
-National Human Trafficking Resource Center
-Stories of Human Trafficking Victims
-One Way to Stop Human Trafficking
-Movies and Documentaries that deal with the subject of Human Trafficking and Sex Slavery (I have seen several, but not all of these movies, so I can't vouch for all of them. Some of these movies might be triggering for survivors of abuse so you should be careful of that if you consider watching them)
-National Human Trafficking Awareness Events .....check to see if there is one happening near you.
-What the FBI has to say about Human Trafficking
-Human Trafficking Awareness shouldn't stop after January 11th, check out Freedom Sunday, and if you are involved in a church, consider talking to your church about participating in Freedom Sunday.
I don't think I'll google it. But I know that it's horrible and sad and I wish it didn't happen. And it seems that the more you learn about the government and what they are willing to do v.s. the things they put off, it's saddening...
ReplyDeleteSo so sad.
ReplyDeleteI saw the movie Taken recently. While it's all Hollywood and fake it did resonate that those situations do in fact happen. :(
Oh Tracey that's such a horrid thing but it goes on endlessly. Our world is becoming more evil and I'm not sure how it can be stopped. However, awareness is the first step.
