She was pretty miserable all day and didn't really keep much down. I finally convinced her that sometimes toast makes you feel better and so she ate a little bit of that. She layed in bed for a while and rested this afternoon and around five o'clock she was a little perkier than she had been and I told her to try to eat and drink a little becuase it would help her feel better. By this point we had been telling her all day long to do this or that becuase it would help her to feel better.
I think that idea caught on, becuase a little later she came up to me and said "Mommy, may I please play with the play dough. I think that playing with play dough can always make people feel better when they are sick." Of course there is no arguing with that, so I not only let her play with the play dough, but I also let her mix the colors up becuase when you don't feel good it is okay to bend a few not-so-important rules (like the "keeping play dough colors seperated" rule that my husband thinks is crazy anyway). Here are some of her special play dough color-mix creations:
She still isn't 100% well yet, but I think that the bug or whatever it was is mostly out of her system and after a good nights sleep tonight she will be better in the morning.
Play dough always made me feel better when I was a kid. I love how you wrote this: I could see my own daughter having a sick day of her own. There's something about Mommy's soft touch that makes even the worst days seem just a little bit better.
ReplyDeletePlaying with play dough would have made me feel better too. How sweet!
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Michele sent me.
I hope Katarina is feeling better soon! Who doesn't love playing with playdoh?
ReplyDeleteshe's right, you know. Play dough is the cure all. :)
ReplyDeleteI hope she's feeling better soon. It's so great that you can take the day and snuggle when she's feeling sick. And how cute that she asked for the play-doh remedy!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my Pass the Torch Tuesday post today!
yes! mix the colors! go on the wild side!
ReplyDeleteAwww...what a sweet post! Hope she gets better soon!
ReplyDeleteHope she feels better soon, too. Had to laugh about the mixing play-doh colors -- we generally keep them seperate at our house too. Oh the debate - to mix or not to mix? I guess I try to keep them separate because when they get mixed up, the girls get upset that they don't have different colors to choose from.
ReplyDeleteI just made my son play dough this morning. And I have to agree with your daughter it does make you feel better. I hope she feels bettter soon.
