Thirteen Random Things about Tracie!
- The biggest thing on my mind right now - I wish I had a huge bowl of pasta with feta cheese on it.....lots and lots of feta!! And some artichoke hearts on the side. Yum! Okay, the food craving portion of this TT is officially over now.
- I realize that I haven't shared much about what I am reading lately, so...........This week I started rereading Forgiving the Dead Man Walking - I read it for the first time a few years ago after hearing an interview with the author, Debbie Morris, and it is a book worth reading again.
- Katarina is going to sleep, but I told her that she could watch Cinderella for a little bit, and right now I can hear Thomas trying to explain to her that the mice are mean for trying to trick the cat--she isn't buying it!
- I never saw the Disney cartoon version of Cinderella until after I got married and my husband rented it for me. I grew up with the 1965 Rodgers and Hammerstein version with Lesley Ann Warren. The cartoon one is great, but you just can't beat this one.
- And of course, being a brunette, I always loved that Cinderella had dark hair when she was played by Lesley Ann Warren. Another fun movie that she is in is The Happiest Millionaire. A classic Disney musical I have loved since my childhood.
- What I don't understand about DVDs and it seems to be worse in children's movies-why are there 7 FBI warnings now? And why can't you fast forward through them-at least with a VCR you can fast forward whenever you want, with the DVD they force you to watch all of them (sometimes even in various languages!)
- I realized today that I got my 2,000th visitor! I know that some of you have passed 10,000-but for me, 2,000 is pretty exciting!
- For all of you who have read here before I am sure that you might have noticed that when I don't use spell check it can be pretty bad. Well, this made me feel much better.
- Things that drive me crazy---Baby Powder!! How could baby powder drive you crazy, Tracie? I am so glad that you asked, because I am going to tell you--my husband uses baby powder with his deodorant (don't ask me why-he just does) he also likes to put it on the bed to make the sheets cooler, but that not what bothers me so much. Anyway, since we moved a few months ago, he has been out of it and we have forgotten to buy it, until last week. Now within two days the entire bathroom is covered in baby powder-I mean covered! He left a towel on the floor and when I picked it up the next morning clouds of baby powder billowed out of it. Tonight when I was getting ready for church I put on a black skirt-then I went in the bathroom to brush my teeth-I immediately got covered in baby powder from leaning over the sink to spit out the toothpaste. My daughter asked me to carry her into the bathroom so that her feet wouldn't get dirty! The baby powder has got to go!
- Since I told you something that my husband does that drives me crazy, I will tell you something that I do--I refer to YooHoos as chocolate water....because that is what they taste like-not like chocolate milk, but chocolate water, kind of gross actually.
- I am thankful that this package didn't accidentally get dropped off at my house!
- To be kind to my readers who speak Pig Latin as a first language, I have made it easier to read this blog with this translation. For those who have watched Pirates of the Caribbean too much and now only understand things as said by pirates, you can check in here.
- One time when I was in middle school-the transmission in our car broke and it would only go in reverse. My dad drove around in it - in reverse for a whole day before getting it fixed.

I am right there with you on the FBI warnings on DVDs, especially on kids videos. That is a head scratcher.
ReplyDeleteMy TT is up, too! Happy TT!
Yea! for the 2000th visitor! woo hoo!
ReplyDeleteThe pirate translation kills me! Too Funny! How do I get that? I use baby powder too, but I usually run out into the hallway (where there is carpet) to apply it so that I can vacuum it up later. I hate it all over my bathroom too! (not enough to stop using it though - it's so humid and sticky here!)
ReplyDeleteToo funny on the baby powder...I can relate to the 2000 visitors, just recently passed that too! Fun.
ReplyDeleteI am a HUGE Cinderella fan, but I've never seen the 1965 version. I must go rent it now, especially as I am also a brunette!
ReplyDeleteGeesh, girl, you're making me so hungry with the pasta and the feta. YUMMY!
ReplyDeleteI'd be ticked about the baby powder too. What a cleaning nightmare. And I wear black a lot too, and what a magnet black fabric is for something like baby powder. Ick.
Congrats on the 2,000 visitor mark! :)
Have a great day, my T13 is up too...
Ooh, the pasta sounds lovely! And, I love the Pirates thing! Cool!!!
ReplyDeleteThat was a great daily dose of randomness! Thanks :)
ReplyDeleteI'll have to check out the R&H version of Cinderella. I liked the movie and even was in a dance recital of Cinderella when I was little.
OMG, I would have died if that snake had showed up on my doorstep! Yikes!
Happy T13 :)
Love your tulips!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if this is a bad thing, but I've never had a YooHoo!
I've seen Cinderella, but I'm going to have to rent the R&H one and check it out!
Have a great Thursday!
Congrats on 2000 visitors and #13 is actually pretty funny.
ReplyDeleteI love the pirate translation! And that's hilarious that your Dad drove around in reverse!
ReplyDeleteBtw, I was still here last night... just forgot to sign... but I did sign up to rent your blog :)

ReplyDeleteMy TT is up
Any visit is exciting! Congrats to you!
ReplyDeleteInteresting, as always, but #13 cracked me up! :D
ReplyDeleteHappy TT! (A bit late, I know - yesterday was a bit busy.)
What a great bunch of links!
ReplyDeleteI am so with you on the baby powder thing. Hubby uses Shower-to-shower and boy does it make my nose tickle!
Your father is hysterical driving a car in reverse for an entire day! LOL
ReplyDeleteOh and your husband's baby powder obssetion has to GO!
YooHoo = Chocolate water = absolutely true.
Hey Tracie... no posting since last week... were you just not around for me to rent your blog or did you just not want me to rent your blog?? ;)
ReplyDeleteBaby powder is one of those things that is best used sparingly. Too much and it just gets nasty. Sounds like your husband needs to learn the lean approach.
ReplyDeleteI'm a fan of baby powder, too. But only in minute amounts. A little really does go a long way.
