This will be a special story for everyone who read my post about the snake. My husband took my daughter to Toys R Us this week and let her pick out a toy. Sounds pretty fun and harmless, right? But what does my precious daughter immediately pick out? A foam sword! They proceeded to grab two of them in the middle of the store and start having a sword fight. It was so much fun that he bought her both of them !
So as you can guess, my day today was filled with lots of sword fights. She is accually really good at it-I think that is because her favorite movie right now is Peter Pan and she has just been waiting for someone to buy her a sword so that she can be just like Wendy. On an up note I guess that swords can be useful....I can just think of it as safety training to combat water moccasins!
The sword is very cool looking. I hate snakes, we saw a Water Moc over the weekend and I was soooo paranoid afterwards. I can't walk without looking at my feet. I hope the rest of the summer is snake free at your place. Here from Michele's!
ReplyDeleteI think it could be worse, Tracie. It could have been a real sword!

Swords are way better than guns. Make sure you introduce her to The Princess Bride when you think she's ready.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit yesterday.
p
I have to say that The Princess Bride is definately on my top ten favorite movies list!
ReplyDeleteYou have a smart little girl, Tracie. Too many of the critters are brainwashed into dolls and nasty stuff like that. Swords? Now there's the ticket! I can see a lot of father-daughter bonding going on soon! Swordfights are the best.
ReplyDeleteMichele sent me to witness the carnage!
nice sword and water mocassins? is that a snake ? By the way, here from Michele
ReplyDeletethat's great! i encourage kids of either sex to play with toys that are traditionally geared for the opposite sex. why shouldn't girls have sword fights?

Water Mocassins are snakes...very poisonus ones in fact! Some people call them Cottonmouths.
ReplyDeleteI bet she'd like the light sabers at the Sharper Image store. They have sound effects and everything. My boy (almost 3) has no idea what Star Wars is, but he loves their "swords".
ReplyDeleteLOL! We have those swords at our house too. For the moment they sit in "time out" ;) A little too much sword fighting with one's sister.
ReplyDeleteMichele sent me to commiserate.
Good for her. I carried a saber when I was =a girl marching in the drill team.

Fencing is a good thing to know!

Hey honey,
ReplyDeleteGreat story telling,....now you know I don't kill anything less I eat it. Oh and the swords are nerf...(I think)
ps. If snake taste like chicken,.... then why not just eat the chicken?
Better a sword than a gun, I guess.
ReplyDeleteWhen I think of some of the oddly fun moments I have with my daughter, I am reminded that daddies and their little girls can really get themselves into trouble at the toy store when mommies aren't around.
